"We will keep you informed"
In March, we announced that we were in the process of carrying out a major upgrade to the groundbreaking app iMoba. All current iMoba users have now been successfully migrated to iMoba 2.0. Users can enjoy new possibilities that come with the upgrade, such as significantly reduced loading and response times, slicker menus, improved graphics and a fully configurable personalized real-time dashboard. Like our customer Mr. Dermot Herlihy, the owner of Belview Egg Farm. Here, he shares his experience with iMoba 2.0 with us.
In 1978, Belview Egg Farm was founded by Dermot and Nicola Herlihy. The company started with 5,000 hens and a tabletop grader. How times have changed in almost 45 years — Belview has expanded nine times in that period to deal with the increasing sales demands and has heavily invested in top-of-the-range equipment. In 1999, Belview first invested in a Moba2000. That was the start of a strong partnership. Through the years, Belview has purchased Omnia's, MR12s, an MCE20 case erector, a Farmpacker and a tray washer.
These days, Belview is run by Dermot Herlihy and Rachel Johnson, packing 2,500,000 eggs per week: 80,000 birds inline from caged units and 60,000 birds from free-range units. An impressive amount, and even though Belview is smaller than the market's leading competitors, the business stands out for its advanced technology and is therefore often used as a reference site for national and international companies.
The app has been of great benefit to our productivity! For example, we use the app to follow production figures of throughput per hour, which allows for efficient staff break times.
The app that changes everything
It therefore came as no surprise that Belview agreed to be one of the first customers to commit to iMoba back in early 2017. Dermot explains: "We first heard of the iMoba concept at the Moba stand at the Eurotier Show in Hanover 2016, and I really liked the concept." Talking about advanced technology, iMoba is a software platform that consists of various modules that enable users to monitor, manage and improve the performance of their Moba equipment as the app automatically collects all of your egg grader’s data and puts those numbers into helpful graphics and reports.
According to Dermot, using iMoba has made all the difference at Belview: "The app has been of great benefit to our productivity! For example, we use the app to follow production figures of throughput per hour, which allows for efficient staff break times. We now also have a clear overview of the number of eggs going down each lane as we have two MR12s, and it helps to get more out of the grader per hour. And it is helpful to calculate the end of year figures for the government department into caged, barn and free-range categories."
iMoba 2.0 gives us the impetus to increase productivity in the packing center and I can't wait to discover the possibilities that all the exciting upgrades bring.
iMoba 2.0
To prepare for growing functionality and stability, Moba decided to upgrade the iMoba app. After a few weeks of migration, all iMoba-users can now enjoy iMoba 2.0. Dermot is very excited about the upgrade: "A big difference between iMoba 1.0 and iMoba 2.0 is that the upgrade is much faster at giving the information. Before the update, it used to take some time to load the weekly or yearly view. Now, the requested data is shown in a matter of seconds! The security is also well organized. An authenticator app must be used to log in to ensure the safety of our data. iMoba 2.0 gives us the impetus to increase productivity in the packing center and I can't wait to discover the possibilities that all the exciting upgrades bring."
