Moba is represented in over 60 countries thanks to its worldwide subsidiaries and extensive network of agents. It is this strong global presence that enables us to support and serve our customers as quickly as possible. In Eastern Europe, we have been relying on our trusted Croatian agent Imex for 30 years.
In the 1990s, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was dissolved and split into independent republics. Before this happened, ASTRA was the agent that Moba worked with in this region. When Yugoslavia was dissolved, the company ceased trading. This gave Imex—a recently established company specialized in trading egg packing materials, poultry and pig equipment, hatchers and incubators—the opportunity to work together with Moba.
I will never forget his words of encouragement. He would always say to me: ‘Never give up, our sales will come…’
Our sales will come
“At that time Moba gave us permission to sell hand packers, spare parts and organize the service for existing Moba equipment in our region,” Mr. Borivoj Vičević, the General Manager of Imex, said. “That was very exciting for us. Even though we entered a long period where sales were low on new Moba machines, we could always rely on Moba’s support. Especially from Mr. Harrie Lancee, Moba’s Area Sales Manager at that time. We have learned a lot from him. I will never forget his words of encouragement. He would always say to me: ‘Never give up, our sales will come…’.”
And as it turned out, Mr. Lancee was right. "In 2013, we signed an official agency contract with Moba for the former Yugoslavian countries. Most of the farmers in this region own Moba machinery that is 20 to 30 years old. Their old Moba equipment is still running. My colleague and wife, Mrs. Irena Vičević, is responsible for the hand packer’s sale and spare part support for all our customers. Together we handle everything involving Moba at Imex. She is amazed that Moba is still able to support spare parts for machines that have been running for over thirty years. The biggest challenge, however, remained how to sell new equipment to our customers. We have kept close and personal contact with our customers, and that gives us the opportunity to introduce them to new technology and technical features that they can add to their machinery. As a result, we have sold several new Omnia, Prima2000 and Moba25000 machines in our region."
We have been working successfully with Moba for nearly 30 years. One could say that is a long time but we feel it is still so short! So here is to the next 30 years.
Mr. Vičević believes that the Eastern European market is different than other markets: "What you need to understand is that all our customers know each other personally. So they seek help from each other and ask other farmers for advice about the benefits and prices, and what deal they made when they bought their equipment. Therefore, Mr. Marcel Bogerd, the Area Sales Manager we mainly cooperate with, needs to produce just the right conditions to make a deal."
Mr. Vičević speaks of a strong cooperation with Moba. “We can always count on the Moba team. We don’t have our own Service Team, we use Moba’s Service Team and we can always rely on them. The HelpDesk, Spare Parts and Customer Care departments give us top quality support. We have been working successfully with Moba for nearly 30 years. One could say that is a long time but we feel it is still so short! So here is to the next 30 years!"
