To further improve the execution of customer projects and strengthen our operational organization, Moba has appointed Mr. Paul van Warmerdam as its new Chief Operations Officer. With his 25 years of knowledge and experience, Paul is taking the next step to launch Moba into the future by improving and reinforcing the organizational structure.
Moba has experienced enormous growth. The customer base has expanded tremendously as well as the product portfolio and organization, with more offices and employees around the globe. To ensure that internal processes continue running smoothly, Moba has added a new senior executive position to its Management Team. The COO oversees all customer-related projects, from the moment the customer decides to invest in Moba machinery until the equipment is installed and running at the customer's plant, and takes care of the overall coordination as a link between departments.
I am eager to start working with the different teams; to provide guidance, direction, and supervision — and to continue building a culture that supports strong commitment across all levels, always with the same goal in mind: adding value to our customers' business.
"I am excited to take on this challenge", Paul begins enthusiastically. "Every business has its own culture, a way of working that has brought the company success. And to be part of such an ambitious company, and contribute to future successes is an amazing feeling. I am eager to start working with the different teams; to provide guidance, direction, and supervision — and to continue building a culture that supports strong commitment across all levels, always with the same goal in mind: adding value to our customers' business."
Perfect fit
After graduating from the Technical University of Delft, in Mechanical Engineering, Paul started his working carrier in the semiconductor industry at companies such as NXP and TSMC where he held positions in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations as well as General Management. After his years in semiconductors, he explored the world of food processing equipment at Marel ehf. He started as Director of Manufacturing & Materials Management for the poultry division and later became Head of Global Supply Chain. His last position before joining Moba was as COO at KMWE, a company that supplies high-tech components, modules and systems based on precision engineering.
When Paul was approached by Moba, his interest was instantly sparked. "I was acquainted with Moba from my time at Marel, but I didn't know much about the company or the egg industry. After the first meeting with some members of the Management Team, I had a clear picture of the ambition of the company and what added value I could bring. And there was an immediate connection with the team. I like what Moba stands for, its position in the market and its future possibilities. It is a perfect fit."
It is up to us to grow simultaneously with the success of our customers. We need to stay on top of everything; keep evolving as a total solution provider and raise our operational organization to a higher level.
Key to success
Successful COOs balance their know-how and experience with the ability to develop strategies and processes that support serving customers while driving the desired business performance to a higher level. "That is what it is all about, ensuring that Moba maintains its excellent position in the market and the high level of equipment and service provided, today and in the future", Paul explains. "And you can only achieve this if you have the understanding of the details of day-to-day execution to ensure that what needs to happen, does happen. The crucial factor in that process is getting the whole organization on board on the "why." If you can accomplish this, then great things can be achieved."
Paul sees strong opportunities at Moba and can't wait to sink his teeth into this challenge. "Moba is a company with a rich history, an excellent market position and passionate employees with great ideas about Moba's future. As the world is changing, so are our customers' needs, market requirements and technologies. It is up to us to grow simultaneously with the success of our customers. We need to stay on top of everything; keep evolving as a total solution provider and raise our operational organization to a higher level. These are crucial conditions for our growing ambitions."
