Mr. Edwin Delmote, the owner of Delmote Edwin BVBA, comes from a family that always had a great interest in the egg industry. It all started with his grandfather, who built egg-grading machines. In 1988, Mr. Edwin started his own business and a few years later he became Moba’s agent in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Today, I think at least 90% of the Belgian market is equipped with Moba equipment
Passion for egg grading
Mr. Edwin's interest in the egg industry started when he was very young. "My grandfather and his sons built small egg-grading machines in the fifties. They had their own brand 'Delmote egg graders'. They built a lot of these machines, which had a capacity ranging between 1,200 eggs/hour and 12,000 eggs/hour."
It was inevitable that Edwin would follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. He was so passionate about egg grading that he started his own business. He focused on selling second-hand egg graders and egg-packing machines and providing technical assistance. In 1992, Moba's then Area Sales Manager, Mr. Ab Spijkman, asked him to work exclusively for Moba. "That has been one of the best decisions of my life", said Edwin. "I was already fascinated by the individual egg handling of Moba's machines and, with my technical background, I could see that the performance was better and the quality higher of Moba's machines than the competitors’. Today, I think at least 90% of the Belgian market is equipped with Moba equipment."
It is an honor to represent Moba, because it is a well-known brand in the market and I feel a part of the Moba team
Communication
"Communication is essential in the workplace and it benefits different areas of our professional life. From the beginning of our cooperation, I have a really good relationship with Moba. I know a lot of people within the Moba team, so I know exactly who to contact when I have questions. And I can always count on Moba's Helpdesk and spare parts department. It is a real pleasure to work with the different Moba teams."
Team spirit
"It is an honor to represent Moba, because it is a well-known brand in the market and I feel part of the Moba team", Mr. Edwin says. “A huge benefit for me personally is the appreciation from Moba for the passion that I put into my work on a daily basis. You could say that I really like my job. I have my own company, but I think and act on behalf of Moba and, over the years, I have learned that being part of a team gives the best results for our customers, Moba and my own company."
I am aware that, although our equipment is the best on the market, we still need to ensure we are providing excellent service and technical assistance.
Market changes
There is a market change in Belgium, according to Edwin. "Over the past few years, more and more egg producers have started selling graded eggs directly to big distributors, such as Colruyt, Delhaize, etc. This means they are buying small egg graders, like the Prima2000 or Moba2500 instead of Farmpackers. We recently sold an Omnia PX180 to an egg producer. It shows that the market is still moving in that direction."
Mission
"My purpose is to deliver excellent service to our customers in Belgium and Luxembourg. I am aware that, although our equipment is the best on the market, we still need to ensure we are providing excellent service and technical assistance. Therefore, a second field engineer recently joined my team."
