AgfaTech has been Moba’s agent in Pakistan for more than two decades. Thanks to this cooperation, Moba can offer our Pakistani customers high-tech equipment and 24/7 service and support. The co-owner of AgfaTech, Mr. Ateeq Mustafa, enjoys being part of the Moba family: “We take pride in partnering with Moba as the well-known leading manufacturer in the egg industry.”
In 2014 we sold two Omnia FT250's to the largest egg producer in Pakistan. This was a big encouragement for our company and a big leap forward in automatic egg grading in Pakistan.
AgfaTech is a family-owned company with a background in poultry farming that was started in 1967 by Mr. Ghulam Muhammad Mustafa. He was succeeded by his sons Mr. Ateeq Mustafa and Mr. Laeeq Mustafa. Right from the start the two brothers shared responsibilities: “I took care of sales, marketing and follow-ups while my brother Laeeq was responsible for installation, maintenance and after sales. Initially we handled the business together, but with the growing market, we needed more support. Since we started, our company has grown; I am supported by my son Mr. Salman Ateeq and we also have one engineer and six experienced technicians employed.”
Mobanette3
In 1996, AgfaTech started working as Moba’s agent in Pakistan. Mr. Ateeq still remembers the first Moba sale – a Mobanette3. “That sale came after the first VIV Asia exhibition I attended as Moba's agent and it was followed up with an order for four Moba 9A machines. That was for a big hatchery group and these graders were purchased to grade broiler hatching eggs. We sold many more but mostly to hatcheries till we got an order in 2013 for a Prima2000, the first automatic grading machine for commercial eggs in Pakistan. In 2014 we sold two Omnia FT250's to the largest egg producer in Pakistan. This was a big encouragement for our company and a big leap forward in automatic egg grading in Pakistan.”
The installation of the Omnia FT250’s was carried out by Moba engineers from Malaysia and AgfaTech’s technicians. Mr. Ateeq: “That was an important step that enabled us to support our customers with after sales service.”
We have more than a good partnership with Moba, we feel part of the worldwide Moba family and we take pride in that.
Changes due to market fluctuations
The Pakistani egg market is 100% dominated by white egg layers. Nowadays there are close to 50 million layers. The past year the Pakistani egg market struggled due to low egg prices and an increase of feed prices. Some producers attribute high feed prices to imported materials because Pakistani currency has devalued by almost 30-35%. There is a silver lining according to Mr. Ateeq: “These conditions have one positive impact that exporting eggs from Pakistan becomes feasible and some farms have already started benefitting from it. Our Pakistani Moba customers have an advantage now because they grade and pack according to international standards to satisfy the export markets.”
Good partnership
There is over 5,000 kilometer between Barneveld and Pakistan but despite the distance the communication is smooth and prompt according to Mr. Ateeq: “For most of the issues we communicate with Moba Asia team. For layouts and project support, we always contact the Sales Support desk at Moba’s head office. We have more than a good partnership with Moba, we feel part of the worldwide Moba family and we take pride in that.”
