It is our mission to support our customers by developing, servicing, and optimizing the best-value egg grading, packaging and processing solutions. We believe in building strong relationships, and we are grateful that customers continue to place their trust in us. Just like our valued customer, Geldard Farm Eggs, an egg producer from England that has been a Moba customer since 2008 and is one of the first to work with our latest innovation: the Mopack EP.
Geldard Farm Eggs is a family-owned business situated on the outskirts of the Lake District National Park in North West England. Livestock farming is central to their operations, encompassing beef cattle, sheep, and laying hens. Egg production and marketing commenced in the 1950s, with Mr. George Geldard selling his eggs and other farm products on a daily basis in the nearby town of Kendal. Over the years, the family has continued to expand the business and they currently supply eggs to retail, food service, and food manufacturing customers across Northern England.
We are pleased with the initial performance of the Mopack EP and believe it will prove to be another productive long-term machinery investment from Moba for our business.
Choosing Moba
After several years of purchasing second-hand egg grading and packaging equipment from various suppliers, Geldard Farm Eggs made the decision to collaborate with Moba UK in 2008, acquiring their first new egg grading machine. That was the start of an ongoing relationship with Moba. Moba subsequently provided them with a second grading machine (Omnia PX180) and a Mopack100 in 2020.
In June 2023, Moba's latest innovation in farmpacking, the Mopack EP, was delivered and installed at Geldard to replace the existing 17-year-old farmpacker from a different manufacturer in one of their production units. The old packer had low capacity and had become unreliable in recent years.
Mr. Richard Geldard, director of the company, explains why they chose to be one of the first to commit to the Mopack EP: "For us, a farmpacker needs to be three things: reliable, easy to use, and easy to clean. Along with the small footprint, plus the variety of direction options for the exit conveyor, the Mopack EP meets all those requirements. That is why we decided that the Mopack EP would be a suitable replacement farmpacker for this unit on the farm."
The machine was installed quickly and efficiently by Moba UK. Richard states: "We finished collecting eggs using the old farmpacker at 9 am, and by 3 pm, the new Mopak EP installation was complete, enabling us to complete the daily egg packing with no interruption to the business. To date, the new machine is performing well, allowing us to reduce the time spent packing eggs and improving the quality of packed eggs. We are pleased with the initial performance of the Mopack EP and believe it will prove to be another productive long-term machinery investment from Moba for our business."
