"We will keep you informed"
In January 2022, Mr. Marc van Hout joined Moba as Chief Commercial Officer. With his knowledge of marketing and commerce, refined sales skills and 23 years of experience in the food industry, Marc is the perfect fit for the Moba team to launch the company into the future. In this issue of Moba News, you can get acquainted with our new CCO.
First of all, welcome to Moba! How have your
first few weeks at the company been?
"I must say that my start at Moba has been
very exciting. Busy, of course, but I am amazed by the passion and enthusiasm
of the Moba team and I am glad to be part of such an ambitious company. In my
first weeks, I have met a lot of Moba employees and spoken with them at length
about the company, what we stand for and our ambitions. These were all fruitful
conversations that have given me a lot of positive energy. At home, I sometimes
joke that I feel like a sponge, just absorbing all the information that I have
received so far."
The dynamic of this sector excites me and there is always a potential for innovation within this industry. And it is a very relevant industry — finding ways to feed a growing population with healthy, safe and affordable food.
What did you know about Moba before you joined
the company?
"I have been working in the food processing
industry for 23 years, so I had heard about Moba's great reputation — but I
must admit, my knowledge was limited. However, after my first meetings with Mr.
Edwin Bolwerk and Mr. Anton Janssen, Moba's CEO and CFO, I had a clear picture
of the company. They told me all about our amazing history, the high-tech
equipment we offer our customers and the market position Moba has conquered in
its 75 years in the industry. Those were very positive conversations and it
became very clear to me that I wanted to be part of this company. I could feel
the enthusiasm from both sides."
Why did the position of CCO appeal to
you?
"I decided to commit to Moba because this position combines three
aspects of business that I have previous experience with. As CCO, I am
responsible for the company's commercial strategy and portfolio development.
The commercial side of companies has always appealed to me, even when I was
studying mechanical engineering in Eindhoven. That is why I took commercial
business as my minor during that time. I held various positions at my last
company, where I worked for 23 years. I was responsible for the Sales
department, and therefore know exactly the challenges our sales managers face.
I was also Head of Product Management, making decisions about the product
portfolio, deciding the future direction and creating strategy, and as General
Manager, I managed a medium-sized company. As CCO, all these aspects come together,
as I will work closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing and
Innovations. I also wanted to continue to work within the food industry. The
dynamic of this sector excites me and there is always a potential for innovation
within this industry. And it is a very relevant industry — finding ways to feed
a growing population with healthy, safe and affordable food."
I believe that I can play a role in taking Moba to the next level by sharing my experience and knowledge of the industry with the Moba team and choosing the right strategy so that we will remain a reliable partner our customers can count on.
And why are you the right person for the job?
"I believe that with my knowledge of the food processing industry and my experience in Sales, Commerce, Product Management and Strategy, I can be a real asset. Moba is an ambitious company, with a great market position, strong customer relationships and passionate employees. We need to build on that success by choosing the right course for Moba to ensure our future. I believe that I can play a role in taking Moba to the next level by sharing my experience and knowledge of the industry with the Moba team and choosing the right strategy so that we will remain a reliable partner our customers can count on."
